Documents of Berlin Trial Released: Rajavi Calls on EU to Revise Its Policy Towards Iran, Iran Zamin News Agency, March 22

"The leadership of the Iranian government... not only approves the execution of terrorist assassinations abroad, but carries them out against individuals who are considered non-desirable only because of their political positions," so concluded judges in a 395-page document released by the Court of Berlin 11 months after the conclusion of the 3.5-year "Mykonos" trial.

It is further stated in the document that "just to preserve power," the Iranian regime "allows its political opponents to be eliminated."

It is asserted in the Berlin Court's document that the order for the September 1992 murder of four Iranian dissidents was issued by a Special Committee which "practically [functions] above the government and parliament." This Committee is in charge of "killing the regime's opponents abroad." According to this document, "the President, the head of the Secret Service (VEVAK), the Foreign Minister, and also the head of the Security Service and other organizations" and finally "the Leader of the Revolution" as "the highest political authority" approved the "mission for murder."

Mr. Massoud Rajavi, President of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, urged the UN Security Council to immediately examine the clerical regime's record on terrorism and put on its agenda the institution of international punishments against this regime. He urged the European Union to revise its extensive diplomatic and economic relations with this terrorist regime.

Mr. Rajavi referred to the remarks yesterday by Khamenei, the regime's leader, in Mashhad, where he boasted of "the passivity of the European governments in the face of Iran's firm decision regarding the Mykonos affair." The NCR President said: The placating policy adopted by some European countries vis-a-vis the Iranian regime will only embolden the mullahs in continuing their export of terrorism and fundamentalism.

Tortured by "Awakened Conscience"!, Agence France Presse, March 19

TEHRAN - A senior Iranian police official denied on Thursday that Tehran city officials had been forced to stay awake for long hours during their detention on corruption charges.

"Those who claim they have been denied sleep were only deeply touched by an action we took: we took them to poverty-stricken regions and had them witness their suffering and who they have been stealing from," said Brigadier General Naqdi.

"After this, many of the (district) mayors were touched and some were even reduced to tears ... or we can interpret it to say they lost sleep," he told Farda (Tomorrow) newspaper.

"We never forced them to stay awake. it was their awakened conscience that prevented them from sleeping," the general added.

"Which torture? If they are right they can come and prove it," he said.
