On Thursday morning, Ms. Soona Samsami, the NCR's U.S. Representative, held a press conference in Washington, DC, at which she provided details on the mullahs' terrorist operation yesterday targeting the Mojahedin in Baghdad.
Ms. Samsami revealed a number of new details about the attack yesterday, including that "the explosives were planted in Iran in a small pick up truck, which was then driven across the border into Iraq. The truck contained approximately 200 kilograms of explosives."
She added: "The criminal act was part of a new policy by the regime to step up its terrorist activities against the Mojahedin on Iraqi soil. The decision for this plan was made in the regime's Supreme National Security Council - presided over by Khatami - which held several sessions during the months of April and May to discuss the issue of combating the Mojahedin. These sessions were attended by Khatami's new Intelligence Minister, Mullah Younessi, as well as the Commander of the Revolutionary Guards, Rahim Safavi, and Khamenei's representative."
Ms. Samsami called on the United Nations Security Council to adopt
binding measures "to prevent the mullahs' regime from taking advantage
of the international silence to continue its atrocities against the Iranian
people in Iran and abroad."
U.S. Legislators Condemn Tehran's Terrorist Bombing, Iran Zamin News Agency, June 10
A number of congressional representatives, including Representatives Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL), Gary Ackerman (D-NY), James Traficant (D-OH) and Edolphus Towns (D-NY), sent messages condemning the "cowardly terrorist attack by the Iranian regime's terrorists."
Mr. Towns said that "it is time for the U.S. State Department to change its tune, and strongly condemn the terrorist attacks launched by Tehran."
Mr. Ackerman echoed his call, saying "the United States should take the lead in implementing a firm policy" and stressed that "the government of Iranian President Mohammad Khatami must be held accountable… We can no longer ignore the fact that President Khatami's promises to institute 'the rule of law' and 'a civil society' have not been brought to fruition."
Mr. Traficant condemned the
Iranian regime for its "continued direct sponsorship of acts of terror"
and added that: "The U.S must forcefully voice its support for democracy
and human rights in Iran… It is wrong and outrageous that the
State Department has remained silent on this brutal act of terror."

The clerical regime claimed responsibility for the attack at the time through its news agency.
Blind explosions in public places and massacre of innocent civilians
is a dastardly method of the Iranian clerical regime's Intelligence Ministry
and Guards Corps. They deploy Iraqi mercenaries of the 9th Badr Division
commanded by the revolutionary Guards Corps.
