Mullahs' Regime Executes 10 Prisoners in Isfahan, Iran Zamin News Agency, August 10

The clerical regime executed 10 prisoners in Isfahan on Thursday and Friday, according to reports from the city in central Iran. The families of some of the execution victims gathered outside the coroner's office in Isfahan's Faiz Square on Saturday, August 7, to collect the bodies of their executed relatives.

A statement by the National Council of Resistance of Iran said: "The executions are part of the clerical regime's efforts to increase suppression in the wake of the courageous mid-July uprising in Tehran and the huge antigovernment demonstrations in other major cities, including Isfahan."

In attracting tourists for the sighting of the eclipse, "the ruling mullahs are trying to keep the city under tight control by terrorizing the public and stepping up the repression. The regime is at the same time refraining from publicly announcing the executions, for it fears international protests and condemnations," the statement added.

… On the issue of the serial murders of Iranian writers, and that different factions are laying the blame on each other, he said "There are two views on this issue: One is that it is an internal matter; while another is that foreigners had a hand in these murders."

He added that "a combination of the two is probably the correct answer." On secret letter of 24 Islamic Republic Guards Corps (IRGC) commanders to… Khatami, and that it could be considered a threat to the May 23 presidential elections, Rezaie said that "the letter is a usual letter which officials write to each other."…
