Mullahs' Regime Confirms Antigovernment Protest in Tehran, Iran Zamin News Agency, October 6
Ten days after reports of a huge antigovernment demonstration in Tehran following a football match, the clerical regime in Iran confirmed the protest.
The newspaper Jebheh, published
in Tehran, wrote on October 4: "Late last week, after a match between Esteqlal
and Pirouzi football clubs, a group of Mojahedin who had infiltrated the
crowd began chanting slogans against the leaders of the country. The hooligans
and mischief-makers who were in the stadium joined the Mojahedin and mingled
with the crowd, got on public transport buses and smashed their windows
and made an attempt to transfer the chaos and mayhem that they created
in Azadi Stadium to the city center. More than 300 buses were severely
damaged and the street between Azadi Square and Enqelab Square was strewn
with broken glass. The Bassij forces arrested a number of these individuals
and handed them over to the relevant authorities."

TEHRAN -- Leader… Ali Khamenei on Tuesday received members of the Executives of Construction Party (ECP) in continuation of his recent meetings with members of different political factions.
… "It was the occasion when politicians and other activists went to the Leader to seek guidance from him, which is crucial at this sensitive juncture of our revolutionary history," an observer said.
At the threshold of the Sixth Majlis elections, there has been some unhealthy rivalry among some political parties. That is why the Leader invited the party members to urge them to give priority to national interests.
Contrary to the propaganda launched by certain Western media, all the Iranian revolutionary figures are united as far as the basic pillars of the Islamic Revolution are concerned. "The principle of Velayat-e Faqih (Guardianship of Islamic Jurisprudent) is the main pillar of the Islamic Revolution, which must preserved at any cost," he added.

TEHRAN - The head of the Lebanon’s radical Hezbollah movement called Wednesday for an "all-out struggle against the Zionist regime," and hailed Iran’s support for its fight.
Foreign minister Kamal.Kharazi backed Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah’s call for resistance during talks with him.
Iran does not recognize Israel, opposes
the peace process between Israel and a number of Arab states, and supports
radical Palestinian and Lebanese movements engaged in armed struggle against
it.

TEHRAN - Reckless drivers in Iran will have to contend with uniformed child traffic monitors posted outside schools, a newspaper reported on Tuesday.
The traffic monitors, aged between
six and 12, can record the number plates of drivers who disobey their orders
to stop at school crossings. Adult officers would then issue tickets.
