Iranians Extensively Protest Tragic Assassination of Two Resistance Activists in Turkey

A large number of Iranians held demonstrations today in four major cities of the world to protest the tragic assassination of two Resistance activists in Turkey by the terrorists dispatched by Tehran regime.

Mrs. Zahra Rajabi was one of the directors of the representative offices of the Iranian Resistance's President-elect, a former member of the Mojahedin's leadership council, and a member of the National Council of Resistance, who had travelled to Turkey on a humanitarian mission to assist Iranian refugees. Mr. Ali Panah Moradi, a long-time, active sympathizer of the Resistance who resided in Turkey with his wife, accompanied Mrs. Rajabi in this mission.

Today's demonstrations were held in London, The Hague, Ottawa and Vancouver. The demonstrators carried large portraits of Zahra Rajabi, which described her as "the great martyr to the cause of Iranian refugees."

In a final resolution to the demonstration, the protesters demanded closure of the embassy and consulates of the mullahs' regime in Turkey.

This is not the first time that the activists of the Iranian Resistance are assassinated in Turkey. Previously, in 1988 and 1992, the mullahs' regime also kidnapped the members of the Iranian Resistance. In the first case, the victim managed to escape from the trunk of the regime's diplomatic car while being transferred across the border to Iran. In the second case, Akbar Ghorbani, was mutilated and murdered under torture. The terrorists later arrested in this regard, confessed to have received their trainings in Iran and their instructions from the mullahs' diplomats in Turkey.

The protesters also demanded the pursuit, arrest and punishment of the masterminds and perpetrators of this cowardly crime. They called on the U.N. Secretary General and the Security Council to examine the violations of human rights in Iran and the regime's terrorism. They also called on the UNHRC Special Representative on Iran, Prof. Maurice D. Copithorne, to include this murder in his report to the Human Rights Commission. In Vancouver, they submitted a copy of their resolution to the Special Representative.

Similar demonstrations will be held, tomorrow, Saturday, in a number of other capitals of the world.
