Mr. Rajavi lauded U.S. House's adoption of oil sanctions act

The U.S. House of Representatives unanimously approved the oil sanctions act, voting 415-0 in favor of the bill.

Mr. Massoud Rajavi, President of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, sent a telegram to House Speaker Newt Gingrich, congratulating him on this courageous initiative. Mr. Rajavi described the U.S. representatives' unprecedented consensus as indicative of the lack of legitimacy of the mullahs' religious, terrorist dictatorship.

The NCR President added: Everyone agrees today that the mullahs' anti-human regime is the principal source of export of terrorism and fundamentalism. Decisiveness and international sanctions are the only language this regime understands.

Mr. Rajavi stressed: Though it is very necessary to exercise decisiveness against this regime, experience has shown that the recognition of the Iranian people's just Resistance against the Khomeini regime is an inevitable precondition for the establishment of democracy in Iran and tranquillity in the region. This Resistance and its President-elect, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, enjoy the support of the greater majority of the Iranian people.

Mr. Rajavi called on European countries to join the trade sanctions and put an end to the policy of critical dialogue, now proven to be futile. Do not allow the mullahs' religious, terrorist dictatorship to take advantage of this policy to step up repression inside Iran and export terrorism abroad, Mr. Rajavi said.
