Fearing rising public discontent, mullahs launch extensive arrests in Tehran

The Khomeini regime's Guards Corps has arrested hundreds of people over the past days in Tehran, specially in the southern districts, reports from Iran say. The arrests were made under the pretext of drug trafficking, consumption of alcoholic beverages and smuggle of foreign currency. Those arrested include many groups of women.

The National Council of Resistance of Iran condemns and views these brutal arrests as a measure to terrorize the public. The mullahs religious, terrorist dictatorship is extremely alarmed at the growth of popular uprisings and increasing discontent across the nation, as well as the outpour of support for the Resistance, particularly by the oppressed Iranian women.
