Iranian Resistance warns European Consortium, Italy against granting loans to mullahs

Based on a contract signed in Tehran, the Government of Italy has guaranteed a $561 million loan by the Consortium of European and Japanese Banks to the mullahs' religious, terrorist dictatorship.

This is while the Italian Parliament ratified a bill in 1992 urging the Foreign Minister to "avoid any political, economic and trade measures which could be interpreted as direct assistance to the Iranian regime." The Italian prosecutor general also has irrefutable evidence on the direct involvement of a terrorist diplomat of the mullahs' regime in the 1993 assassination of Mohammad Hossein Naghdi, the NCR representative in Italy.

Iran's criminal rulers have so far been condemned 38 times by the various organs of the United Nations for their systematic violations of human rights and export of terrorism. Since the beginning of this year, the regime's agents have assassinated at least 15 Iranian dissidents in foreign countries.

The Khomeini regime does not enjoy any legitimacy or support in Iran. The Iranian people and Resistance are preparing for the overthrow of this regime and replacing it with a democratic government. The only factor aiding the survival of this religious, terrorist dictatorship and adding to the suffering and agony of the Iranian people, has been the economic and political support given to the regime by some western countries.

All the financial resources of this regime are spent either on domestic suppression, export of terrorism and fundamentalism, and nuclear ambitions, or are plundered by the mullahs. Not a single dollar is devoted to the well-being and economic progress of the Iranian people.

The National Council of Resistance of Iran calls on the Euro-Japanese Consortium and the Government of Italy to withdraw the loan and annul its guarantees. Such forms of assistance to the mullahs' regime run counter to the highest interests of the Iranian people and embolden the regime in continuing its repressive and terrorist policies.
