Issued on March 10, the KDPI statement pointed out that a number of its cadres were captured in a surprise raid by mullahsÕ agents two months ago in the cities of Karaj, Kermanshah, Sardasht and Oroumieh, and are still imprisoned under torture.
The KDPI urged Iran's ruling regime to "limit this savagery, free those arrested and allow them to return to Iraqi Kurdistan."
Mr. Massoud Rajavi, President of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, strongly condemned the atrocities of the mullahs' regime against the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iraq. He sent his condolences to Mr. Massoud Barzani, the KDPI leader, and to the Tahsin family.
Mr. Rajavi added: The clerical regime is not only the enemy of Kurds and Persians in Iran but is also the main enemy of Kurds and Arabs beyond Iranian borders. The people of Iraqi Kurdistan, who for years have witnessed the terrorist atrocities and military aggressions of this regime, attest to this truth. The Kurds in Iraq, like our fellow Kurds in Iran, long to rid themselves of this evil regime. This will doubtless be realized at the hands of the National Liberation Army with the backing of the Iranian nation.
