Iranian Resistance condemns Eliasson's trip to Iran

Monday, July 6, Jan Eliasson, Sweden's deputy foreign minister, is scheduled to travel to Iran, news agencies reported. Mr. Parviz Khaza'i, Representative of the National Council of Resistance of Iran in Scandinavian countries, condemned Eliasson's planned trip and shaking hands with Iran's criminal rulers.

Drawing parallels between the current situation in Iran and the state of affairs in the final months of the shah's regime, the NCR representative in Scandinavian countries added: "All economic and political investments in this regime is doomed to fail and only encourage the mullahs to continue the suppression of the Iranian people and export of terrorism and fundamentalism."

Mr. Khaza'i added: On June 21, during the Iran-USA match at Lyon's Gerland stadium and before hundreds of millions of viewers across the world, tens of thousands of Iranians chanted "down with Khamenei," "down with Khatami" and in support of the Iranian Resistance and its President-elect. They thus displayed the Iranian people's resolve to overthrow the clerical regime and their support for the National Council of Resistance and its President-elect. Under such circumstances, Eliasson's trip is even more illegitimate now than ever before. Support for the ruling theocracy in the final stages of its rule only hurts the feelings of the Iranian people.
