Iranian Resistance condemns increasing bounty on Rushdie's head, warns against mullahs' terrorist actions
Britain's appeasement is main encouragement to Iran's ruling terrorists

The National Council of Resistance of Iran strongly condemns the increase to $2.8 million in the bounty for the murder of Salman Rushdie. The decision was announced by mullah Hassan Sane'i, head of the government-run 15th of Khordad Foundation and one of Khatami's close associates.

In light of the emphases in the past two weeks by the regime's officials, clerics, and state-run media on the need to carry out the fatwa, the NCR warns that the regime's murder machine is working full force to carry out Khomeini's criminal decree.

Jomhouri Islami daily reported today that mullah Hassan Sane'i addressed a gathering in Mashhad on Sunday, October 11, where he announced the increase in the prize. Sane'i said that the prize was first approved by Khomeini. Not only has this prize not lost its color today, but it will endure and spread across the world, he added.

The British Foreign Office's placating policies and its shameful dealings with Iran's criminal rulers, including in Rushdie's case, is the best encouragement for the mullahs to carry out the fatwa and increase the bounty.

The British Foreign Office today attempted to dissociate the Foundation from the government. The 15th of Khordad Foundation, however, published an advertisement yesterday in the state-controlled dailies, declaring that the it is "one of the official and revolutionary institutions of the Islamic Republic of Iran, formed in June 1981 upon direct orders of the founder of the Islamic Republic, His Eminence Imam Khomeini."

In the regime's Court of Administrative Justice, cases filed against "revolutionary institutions" are considered as "cases filed against the government." Moreover, according to the law dealing with the government's second five-year-plan, item D of Article 22, stipulates that laws applicable to all government ministries also apply to this foundation.

The claim that the 15th of Khordad Foundation is a non-governmental entity is therefore absolutely false and is used as an excuse by some European countries who - in pursuit of their economic interests and ignorant of the principles of human rights and the fight against terrorism - intend to expand their ties with the religious, terrorist dictatorship ruling Iran.
