Guards kill two occupants of car, wound another

Members of the Guards Corps' para-military Bassij force opened fire on a vehicle in Azerbaijan street (western Tehran) on Wednesday, February 17. Two occupants, Mohammad Reza Afzali, 27, and Ibrahim Taghdiri, 30, were killed instantly. A women passenger, Shahabeh Nourbakhsh, 25, was seriously wounded.

The Guards said they opened fire because the woman passenger was not "properly veiled."

In recent months, the clerical regime has resorted to widespread arrests and arbitrary murders to create an atmosphere of terror and intimidation and control the explosive state of society.

Some time ago, Intelligence Ministry agents shot and killed a 24-year-old man, riding on motorcycle, near Tehran's Hafez bridge. Before then, they shot and killed a 25-year-old man in Isfahan (central Iran) without any reason.

The Iranian Resistance calls on international human rights organizations to condemn the murder on Wednesday and the new wave of arbitrary killings by the clerical regime.
