Statement No. 7
Another student died in hospital

The student who was shot in the eye by the State Security Forces early this morning died at Tehran's Shari'ati Hospital, reports from Iran say. The regime's officials have not yet identified him.

The demonstration by Tehran University students, who were joined today by thousands of students from other universities in the capital, continued until 3:00 p.m. They will begin their sit-in at 6:00 p.m. in front of the University.

The students today chanted, "Students, arise! Your brothers were killed," "hail to Mojahedin," and "Our July 9 is same as December 7." On December 7, 1953, three anti-shah students were killed by the shah's regime on Tehran University's campus.

Students in other cities, including Tabriz, Shiraz, and Rasht have announced demonstrations and marches in support of Tehran University students.

Following the clashes in the past 40 hours at Tehran University, Khalili Araqi, the university's chancellor, and the heads of all Tehran University faculties resigned.

Previously, Farhadi, the Minister of Health and Medicine, and Mo'ein, the Minister of Culture and Higher Education, had resigned from their posts. Moussavi Lari, deputy Minister of the Interior, also resigned from his position as head of the State Security Forces. In his letter of resignation, Farhadi described the bloody incident at Tehran University as "a national crisis."
