Operation Sohrab-Statement No. 4
Nine killed or wounded Revolutionary Guards and Bassijis identified
- Clerical regime's forces on full alert, aerial patrols in region in search of Mojahedin

Subsequent to the operation by four Mojahedin units in Ilam, the clerical regime has put all of its suppressive forces in Kermanshah and Ilam provinces on full alert.

Since this morning, in search of the Mojahedin the clerical regime has deployed several aircraft in an aerial search throughout the Ilam region.

Simultaneously, the Revolutionary Guards, the State Security Forces, intelligence agents and members of the paramilitary Bassij are searching for the Mojahedin in villages and other regions. They have asked for reinforcement from other provinces. Local inhabitants have vehemently protested against this search operation.

The regime's suppressive forces have arrested a large number of people in Ilam and neighboring cities. In newly-set-up checkpoints, they have been arresting people coming to or leaving the city of Ilam.

During last night's operation by the Mojahedin units, dozens of Revolutionary Guardsmen and intelligence agents were killed or wounded. Two Guardsmen wounded during the mortar attack on Ilam's Directorate of Intelligence and the Guards Corps Command HQ, were identified as Davoud Salimi and Behzad Yousefi.

Four other Guardsmen wounded during clashes between Mojahedin's units and the regime's suppressive forces throughout the city of Ilam, were Abdollah Shekar-Beiki, Taqi Safar-Beiki, Yousef-Ali Hosseini and Abbas Bashirzadeh. Among those killed, three paramilitary Bassij members, Qobad Mansour-Beiki, Reza Mola'i and Alireza Ali Hosseini, have been so far been identified.

After trying to maintain silence on this major operation, the regime was forced to acknowledge the mortar attack in its midday radio and television newscast after the news of the operation spread across the entire region.
