Ilam Operations - Statement No. 4
20 hours after Mojahedin operations in Ilam,BR>Heavy blows force mullahs' regime to acknowledge attacks

Twenty hours after the Mojahedin's successful operations in Ilam Province and the pounding of three military centers of suppression, the mullahs' regime broke its silence last night and acknowledged the attacks in the main evening news bulletins of the state radio and television. What forced the mullahs to break their silence was the scale of casualties and damages inflicted on their forces in these attacks and the spread of the news of the attacks over large areas of western Iran.

While the locations of the targets that have been attacked in Dehloran, Sarnay and Saleh-Abad are no secret to the people in Iran and everyone knows that the mullahs' suppressive forces never gather "on the border point," the state-run media recited a "report" concocted by the Ministry of Intelligence, which shamelessly claimed that "the Mojahedin fired several mortars on the border point in Ilam Province."

The clerical regime is thus trying to boost the morale of its totally demoralized forces.

In three major military operations on Tuesday morning, military units of the Mojahedin in Iran pounded with 120- and 82-mm mortars a battalion headquarters of the 23rd Nohed (Special Forces) Division in Dehloran and two centers of the 16th Armored Division in Saleh-Abad and Sarnay in Ilam Province, inflicting heavy casualties and damages on enemy forces and installations. The mullahs' regime immediately placed all its security and intelligence forces in the area on full alert. Several groups of officials have been sent to the area from Tehran, Ilam and Kermanshah to investigate the attacks.
