Operations "Ilam Spring"
Mojahedin units attack mullahsÕ forces in Ilam Province with
120-mm and 82-mm mortars

Ten military units of the Mojahedin carried out seven operations this morning in Iran's southwestern province of Ilam, attacking military targets over a wide area. The operations, mainly in Dehloran area, were code-named "Ilam Spring."

This brings to 75 the number of military centers and targets which have been attacked by Mojahedin units in different provinces in Iran in the past 100 days.

The Mojahedin units poured a heavy barrage of 120-mm and 82-mm mortars on their targets, while in some cases they set up ambushes and booby traps for the mullahs' suppressive agents, inflicting heavy casualties and considerable damage to the 23rd Special Airborne Division and the State Security Forces in Dehloran:

1. Operation Ilam Spring 1: Using 120-mm mortars, the Mojahedin forces attacked the headquarters of the 137th Battalion of the 23rd Special Airborne Division in Dehloran.

2. Operation Ilam Spring 2: Assault with 120-mm mortars on forces belonging to the 1st Brigade of the 23rd Special Airborne Division

3. Operation Ilam Spring 3: Assault with 82-mm mortars on another unit of the 1st Brigade situated southwest of Dehloran

4. Operation Ilam Spring 4: The 23rd Division's 783rd Battalion, situated south of Dehloran, was pounded with 82-mm mortars

5. Operation Ilam Spring 5: Mojahedin units took control of an exclusive military road leading to Dehloran and set up ambushes and booby traps for passing military vehicles of the mullahs' regime

6. Operation Ilam Spring 6: Mojahedin units seized an exclusive military road leading to Mehran-Dehloran highway and set up ambushes and booby traps for the mullahs' intelligence and military forces. Several military vehicles were destroyed and a number of enemy agents were killed in this attack.

7. Operation Ilam Spring 7: Mojahedin units took control of an exclusive military road near Meimeh river and set up ambushes and booby traps for the mullahs' forces.
