Revolutionary Guards colonel killed in clash with Mojahedin in Orumieh (northwest Iran)

The Mojahedin Command inside Iran reported today that Revolutionary Guards Colonel Zeinal Zadeh, a top intelligence officer of the Guards in West Azerbaijan Province, was killed in a clash with a Mojahedin military unit near the northwestern city of Orumieh.

In a special operation that enjoyed the active cooperation of local people, Mojahedin fighters ambushed Col. Zeinal Zadeh with two armed Revolutionary Guards officers accompanying him. One of the Guards was killed and the other was seriously wounded.

Hundreds of Revolutionary Guards, State Security Forces agents and Intelligence Ministry operatives were brought in to surround and comb the entire area in search of Mojahedin, but without any success.
