Mullahs' mortar attack on Mojahedin office in Baghdad foiled

This morning, the Mojahedin foiled a mortar attack on the Mojahedin's central office in Baghdad by terrorists dispatched by the clerical regime.

Around 7:00 a.m., the Mojahedin's patrol units discovered a 60-mm mortar launcher and two mortar shells in Abu-Nawas street near the Mojahedin central office in Baghdad.

The terrorists, who were preparing to fire the mortars on the Mojahedin's office, escaped and left behind the mortar launcher and the shells when they realized that the Mojahedin patrol was in the area.

Last week, the clerical regime launched a criminal attack with 60-mm mortars on a residential area of Baghdad, killing three Iraqi and three Palestinian nationals and wounding scores of innocent civilians.

In another terrorist attack, mullahs' terrorists opened fire from an agricultural field on a Mojahedin vehicle driving on the Kut-Baghdad highway near the Iraqi city of Al-Soweira around 5:00 p.m., yesterday. The Mojahedin returned fire, forcing the terrorists to flee the scene. The Mojahedin sustained no casualties or damages in this cowardly attack.

These attacks are the 90th and 91th terrorist assaults by the mullahs' regime against the Iranian Resistance in Iraq since 1993. Of these, 40 have been carried out during Khatami's presidency.

The People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran reiterates its inalienable right to respond and self-defense in the face of the mullahs' terrorist attacks. It urges the United Nations Secretary General and the Security Council to condemn the ruling religious dictatorship's unbridled terrorism and adopt binding measures against this regime.
