Mullahs' regime launches missile attacks on Mojahedin camps and Iraqi cities from Jalawla to Basra

The clerical regime fired at least 44 Scud missiles at Mojahedin camps and several Iraqi cities and towns from Jalawla to Basra from 3:00 to 7:00 am today.

Camp Habib, north of Basra, was hit in two series of attacks with 12 missiles. Nine missiles have hit the city of Jalawla so far. Two missiles landed near the city's mosque and the rest landed on residential areas.

10 missiles landed on the Iraqi town of Khalis toward Camp Ashraf. Five other missiles, which created craters 12 meters wide and several meters deep, landed in the city of Kut, in the direction of Camp Fa'ezeh.

Five missiles have so far landed in the Iraqi town of Meqdadieh, in the direction of Camp Alavi.

At about 7:00 am today, three more Scud missiles landed in the vicinity of the city of Kut in the direction of Camp Fa'ezeh. One of them landed in the city.

The missile attacks are continuing and reports on damages will be announced once they are received.

Mr. Massoud Rajavi, President of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, said: "The scale of today's missile attacks and the use of Scud missiles as weapons of mass destruction show that the mullahs' regime is determined to export crisis only weeks ahead of presidential elections."

He added: "Mullahs began this crisis-mongering with the arrests in Tehran and other cities in recent weeks. Now, the export of crisis beyond Iran's borders reaches unprecedented escalation with dozens of scud missiles."

"The mullahs' election masquerades have outlived their usefulness for the regime and the time has come for weapons of mass destruction, export of crisis and warmongering", Mr. Rajavi emphasized.

Mr. Rajavi called on the UN Secretary General and Security Council to take a stance immediately against the mullahs' outlaw actions. He stressed that in violating the Security Council Resolution 598 on such a gross scale, the clerical regime bears full responsibility for the consequences of its criminal actions and flagrant aggression.
