Extensive clashes reported in Mazandaran and Ilam provinces between Resistance forces and suppressive agents of the mullahs' regime

Extensive clashes continued in various parts of the country in the past days, between the Mojahedin and the popular Resistance forces on the one hand and the mullah regime's Pasdaran (revolutionary Guards) and agents of the Intelligence Ministry, the Mojahedin Command Headquarters in Iran reported.

These clashes became unprecedently intense in recent days in the provinces of Mazandaran (northern Iran, near the Caspian sea) and Ilam (western Iran), and a large number of the regime's forces were killed or wounded in these confrontations.

To conceal its consecutive defeats in encounters with the people and the Mojahedin in Ilam province, the mullahs' Ministry of Intelligence today disseminated an absolutely false report that four Mojahedin, armed with AK-47 machine-guns and in military uniforms, were killed yesterday by the regime's forces while crossing Ilam's border from Iraq into Iran. It is also claimed in this fabricated story that two other members of the Mojahedin, who had fled away some time ago, were killed Saturday in Dehloran. This is while none of the Mojahedin or combatants of the National Liberation Army ever went from Iraq to Iran and the border clashes alleged by the regime are absolutely false.

By disseminating false information, the regime seeks to boost the morale of its suppressive forces who in recent weeks suffered heavy casualties in confrontations with Mojahedin and popular Resistance forces in Iran, and hundreds of them were killed or wounded.

The clashes in Sari, capital of Mazandaran province, became so intensified that the officials were forced to acknowledge them on the television, contrary to their routine practice. The escalation in the number of youths joining the National Liberation Army in recent months, has terribly upset the mullahs and doubled their fear of overthrow, making them more in need of propagating lies.

The criminal mullahs are also preparing the grounds for terrorist and military attacks against the activists and bases of the Iranian Resistance in Iraq. On January 8, following a week-long false propaganda campaign alleging Mojahedin infiltrations into Iraq, the regime attacked the headquarters of the Mojahedin in Baghdad when three 200kgs shells were launched by 320mm giant mortars. Following this brutal attack, one hospital, one health laboratory and the building belonging to the Union of Iraqi poets and writers were destroyed, one Iraqi citizen killed and a large number wounded.
