Bogus claims by mullahs' Intelligence Ministry categorically denied

To cover up the blows the mullahs have recently received from the Mojahedin in various parts of Iran, the Iranian Intelligence Ministry disseminated falsities yesterday and today about the arrest of a joint team of Mojahedin and Iraqis, and the Mojahedin's "cooperation" with "the secret services of Iraq."

Quoting the organization's Command Headquarters inside Iran, the Mojahedin's Press Office in Paris announced in a statement this morning: Large numbers of mullahs' agents were killed or wounded in extensive clashes in recent weeks in the provinces of Khuzistan (southwest), Ilam (west) and Kerman (south), between the Mojahedin on the one hand and the Pasdaran (Revolutionary Guards Corps) and Intelligence Ministry agents on the other.

Fearing the spread of these clashes, which were accompanied with popular support for the Mojahedin, the mullahs' regime put its forces on alert for several weeks in these regions and launched defensive maneuvers in various cities. A number of people and the Mojahedin were arrested during the clashes.

A Mojahedin spokesman categorically denied the claims made by the Khomeini regime's Intelligence Ministry and news agency and said: Unable to confront the growing popular resistance, the mullahs disseminate such fabrications in a bid to thwart the escalating tide of youths joining the National Liberation Army.
