Mullahs' false claims

In a preposterous claim, the mullahs' Intelligence Ministry announced that 25 members of the Mojahedin had surrendered themselves to the regime's officials in Kermanshah over the past four weeks.

A spokesman for the Mojahedin said these fabrications are aimed at boosting the sagging morale of the regime's forces who have received heavy blows from the Iranian Resistance particularly in recent months.

In the first seven months of 1997, the Mojahedin dealt heavy blows to the regime's forces in 294 operations. In the course of these clashes, hundreds of Revolutionary Guards and agents of the Intelligence Ministry were killed or wounded.

The need to fabricate such lies reflects only the weakness of the clerical regime in confronting the Resistance and makes the Mojahedin more determined in toppling the mullahs and establishing peace, democracy and social justice in Iran, the spokesman said.

Early this month, the Ministry of Intelligence disseminated false news about the return of 51 Mojahedin members to Iran. The People's Mojahedin denied this absurd claim at the time and subsequently revealed that the persons in question were ordinary citizens who had travelled to Kuwait to find jobs and returned after their residence and work permits had expired.
