Mr. Rajavi called on the leaders of Islamic nations to oppose the convening of the upcoming session of the Islamic Conference in Tehran and hold it elsewhere.
In his letter today to the leaders of Islamic nations, the NCR President emphasized: The mullahs' criminal act of aggression yesterday flagrantly violated the U.N. Security Council resolution 598 and took advantage of the special circumstances in Iraq. It showed that Tehran's clerical regime is the main cause of tension, export of terrorism and fundamentalism to the region and does not lose any opportunity to advance its policy.
Placating policies, or silence and inaction embolden this regime to expand its activities to other Islamic and Arab countries, particularly in the Persian Gulf, Mr. Rajavi added.
The NCR President urged Islamic and Arab leaders to severe relations with the Iranian regime. He said: How could the conference of Islamic leaders be held in a country whose rulers create discord among Muslims and cause bloodshed and fratricide - against the teachings of Islam - and are involved in export of chaos and insecurity abroad and to other Islamic countries.
Mr. Rajavi reiterated that the holding of Islamic Conference in Tehran violates the solidarity of Arab and Islamic nations and encourages this regime to continue these criminal actions and legitimize them.
Having briefly reviewed the regime's repression at home and export of terrorism in recent months, Mr. Rajavi concluded: Khatami has neither the interest nor the power to initiate the slightest change in this regime. In circumstances where the death tolls have sounded for the Khomeini regime and it is beset by internal crises and unable to counter the nationwide Resistance, any rapprochement toward, and appeasement of, this regime run counter to the best interests of the people of Iran; the clerics will take advantage of such opportunities to export terrorism and fundamentalism and conceal their crises.
