Mullahs' rocket attack on Mojahedin's central office foiled
Rajavi: Terrorist operation only a week after Islamic Conference summit proves regime is incapable of reform

The Mojahedin's security guards foiled at 11:00 a.m. today a missile attack by the mullahs' regime against the central office of the Mojahedin in Baghdad.

Terrorists dispatched by the theocratic regime ruling Iran had set-up timer-equipped RPG-18 rocket launchers in a hotel in central Baghdad, where the Mojahedin's headquarters in located. The rocket launchers had been aimed at the Mojahedin's office building.

The Mojahedin's security guards discovered and defused the rocket launchers before they could be launched. Upon the arrival of the Mojahedin guards, the terrorists fled the scene and left behind several grenades, RPG-18 rockets and other equipment.

This was the 52nd terrorist operation against the Iranian Resistance in Iraq since the beginning of 1993. The regime has also assassinated 24 dissidents in Iraq since Khatami took office on August 2.

Mr. Massoud Rajavi, President of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, said the terrorist operation today only one week after the summit of the Islamic leaders in Tehran clearly indicates that the religious, terrorist dictatorship ruling Iran is incapable of reform.

Mr. Rajavi added: That this operation in the capital of an Islamic country occurred so quickly after the Islamic Conference had adopted resolutions that strongly condemned terrorism, affirms that Iran's criminal rulers are not bound by any rules or principle.

In a letter to the U.N. Secretary General and the President and members of the Security Council, Mr. Rajavi urged them to condemn this terrorist crime and adopt binding decisions against Iran's clerical regime.

Mr. Rajavi added: The international community's silence and inaction towards the crimes of this regime, as well as any rapprochement with it, only embolden this medieval dictatorship to continue its atrocities against the people of Iran and against peace and tranquillity in the region.

The NCR President also urged the government of Iraq to arrest and punish the terrorists and close the embassy of the Khomeini regime in Baghdad which acts as the center for planning and perpetrating these terrorist attacks against the Iranian Resistance.
