BOMB EXPLOSION IN BAGHDAD
Mullahs' 53rd terrorist operation against Mojahedin's in Iraq

At 7:45 p.m. yesterday, a powerful bomb exploded at a deserted area in a street adjacent to the Mojahedin's central office in Baghdad.

Having failed to break through the security rings around the office to plant the bomb near the Mojahedin's office buildings, the terrorists dispatched by Iran's clerical regime were compelled to hide the bomb in the debris, at a deserted area in an adjacent street and escape the scene.

The windows of a hotel and some houses and shops were shattered as a result. None of the Mojahedin were hurt in this explosion and no damages were inflicted on their office buildings.

This was the Khomeini regime's 53rd terrorist act in Iraq against the Iranian Resistance since the beginning of 1993. Three days before this incident, the Mojahedin's security guards discovered and foiled a rocket attack on the Mojahedin's office by the regime's terrorists.

Just recently, the Islamic Conference summit in Tehran adopted resolutions which strongly condemned terrorism. Iran's clerical regime was also a signatory to these resolutions. The terrorist operation last night clearly affirmed, however, that terrorism and fundamentalism are inherent to the mullahs' rule and indispensable to their foreign policy. This regime is not bound by any principle, treaty or commitment.

The holding of the Islamic summit in Tehran and the international community's appeasement of Iran's ruling mullahs have only emboldened them to export fundamentalism and terrorism.

Mr. Massoud Rajavi, President of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, called on the UN Secretary General and President and members of the Security Council to decisively condemn and punish the regime for its terrorist crimes.
