Mojahedin military units launch mortar attack on Revolutionary Guards HQ in Tehran

The Mojahedin Command Headquarters inside Iran announced that Mojahedin military units launched a mortar attack at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2, on the Central Command Headquarters of the Revolutionary Guards in Doshan Tappeh, east Tehran.

In the surprise attack, several Revolutionary Guards were killed or wounded and the headquarters' buildings were damaged.

The operation was carried out in retaliation for the skaying of four Mojahedin - Vahid Shokripour, Ahmad-Reza Ebrahimi, Khalil Soltan Moradi and Nasser Azimi - in Mehran region (western Iran) last October. They were killed by Revolutionary Guards units sent from Tehran.

Following the attack on the Guards headquarters, the Revolutionary Guards and other repressive forces in the capital were placed on full alert. Guards patrols were firing their weapons at random.

Revolutionary Guards Commandant General Rahim Safavi said recently that "we will uproot the (opponents of the regime) wherever they may be... We must chop off some heads and pluck out some tongues."

Referring to the Mojahedin, a frightened Safavi warned yesterday that "a third party is lying in ambush and is aiming at the foundations of the Islamic state. They are collecting arms right now."

The fact is that the Iranian people and their Resistance are determined to overthrow the mullahs' anti-human regime and establish democracy and social justice in Iran.
