Mullahs' regime declares "mobilization of all intelligence and security apparatus" against the Mojahedin

The clerical regime's Deputy Minister of Intelligence (secret police) Pour-Mohammadi declared last night on the Iranian state television: "All the intelligence and security apparatus of the country have been mobilized and the necessary coordination between them has been accomplished in order to follow up the case" of Mojahedin operations in Tehran on June 2.

Security precautions have been significantly stepped up by the clerical regime after the Mojahedin's attacks on key centers of repression and terrorism in Tehran. The sensitive sites now under much heavier protection include headquarters of government agencies involved in repression and export of terrorism such as the Ministry of Intelligence buildings, Guards Corps headquarters, and Islamic Revolutionary Prosecutor's Office branches. At each site, dozens of Revolutionary Guards and repressive forces are patrolling the area and guarding the buildings. The Revolutionary Guards have erected tents near sensitive sites and set up road blocks.

The State Security Forces' helicopters have been flying air reconnaissance and surveillance flights over the capital and the outlying areas since Wednesday morning in an effort to prevent the Resistance forces from mounting further attacks on key installations.

The clerical regime's leaders are said to have sharply reprimanded the Intelligence Ministry, the Guards Corps and other repressive agencies for their failure to counter the Mojahedin units' activities.

Days after the Mojahedin operations in Tehran, the extensive public support for the attacks and their far-reaching political and social impact have added to the mullahs' fears. The issue is still the focus of many commentaries and reports on the state-run news agency, radio and television, as well as newspaper editorials. Tehran radio said in its political commentary yesterday: "One must contemplate the political and social dimensions" of the June 2 operations in Tehran. It added: "Tuesday's attacks were undoubtedly designed... to attack the foundations of the Iranian people's beliefs."

The government-controlled Tehran Times editorialized yesterday: "The (Mojahedin) operations showed that our enemies are bent on delivering a serious blow to the Islamic Revolution." The paper urged all the factions of the clerical regime to unite "to fight enemy conspiracies."

The daily Salam also wrote in an article in its Saturday issue: "With these operations, the (Mojahedin) intended to show off their capabilities and superiority."
