Clerical regime's terrorist attack on National Liberation Army combatants fails

At 7:10 p.m. (local time), Wednesday, July 8, the Khomeini regime's terrorists attacked several vehicles of the National Liberation Army of Iran with RPG-7 rockets launchers as they were traveling on the Kut-Basrah highway, near Sheikh Sa'd region, 50 km south of Kut.

The NLA combatants quickly opened fire on the assailants, forcing them to escape before they could use the rest of their rockets. Two RPG-7 rockets and several missiles were left behind. NLA combatants suffered no harm and only one of the vehicles sustained some damage.

This was the 63rd terrorist and military operation by the mullahs' regime since 1993 against the National Liberation Army of Iran in Iraqi territory. At last 12 of these terrorist assaults have occurred since Mohammad Khatami became the mullahs' President. This reaffirms the fact that as far as export of terrorism is concerned, there are no differences between Khatami and the rest of the ruling mullahs.

The People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran reiterates its legitimate right to response and self-defense when and where it would deem appropriate. The Mojahedin urge the UN Security Council to condemn these terrorist crimes by Iran's clerical regime.

The silence and inaction of the relevant international bodies have emboldened the mullahs' religious, terrorist dictatorship to continue its terrorist attacks in violation of international law.
