Mullahs' regime launches terrorist attack on a Mojahedin vehicle in Baghdad

At 11:15 p.m. (local time), Saturday, August 1, the Khomeini regime's terrorists fired an RPG-18 rocket at a Mojahedin vehicle on Sheibani street near the Organization's central office in Baghdad. The missile missed the target and landed a few meters away on the street.

The security guard at the Mojahedin's central office quickly opened fire on the assailants, forcing them to escape before they could use the rest of their rockets. They left behind one RPG-18 and one RPG-7 rocket launcher.

The Mojahedin suffered no harm in this cowardly attack. The shrapnel after the missile exploded inflicted only minor damage to the vehicle.

This was the 64th terrorist and military operation by the mullahs' regime since 1993 against the Mojahedin and the National Liberation Army of Iran in Iraqi territory. At last 13 of these terrorist assaults have occurred since Mohammad Khatami became the mullahs' President. This reaffirms the fact that as far as export of terrorism is concerned, Khatami is no different from the rest of the ruling mullahs.

Beset by a deepening power struggle, irremediable economic and social crises and unable to cope with a growing popular Resistance and the activities of the Mojahedin inside the country, the clerical regime has found itself in need of carrying out such terrorist acts as never before.

The People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran reiterates its legitimate right to response and self-defense and calls on the UN Security Council to condemn the terrorist crimes by Iran's clerical regime.

Silence and inaction by relevant international bodies will embolden the mullahs' religious, terrorist dictatorship to continue its terrorist attacks and violate international law.
